Governor Jishnu Dev Varma highlights role of advanced technology in medical sector
HYDERABAD: Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma emphasized the significance of advanced technology in improving healthcare services. Speaking at the Hyderabad Arthroscopy Conclave 2025, organized by Yashoda Hospitals, he highlighted the increasing role of robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), and integration technologies in orthopedic surgery and arthroscopic procedures. The two-day international conference and live workshop was inaugurated by the Governor at Park Hyatt, Banjara Hills, on Saturday.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Jishnu Dev Varma stated that technology is rapidly evolving, and its utilization across various fields, especially in medicine, is crucial. He noted the growing importance of AI in the medical sector, particularly in diagnosing and treating sports-related injuries. He further emphasized that the international conference and live workshop would be highly beneficial for young orthopedic surgeons.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Pavan Gorukanti, Group Director of Yashoda Hospitals, highlighted that the conference focuses on the latest advancements in arthroscopy and minimally invasive surgery. He described arthroscopy as a revolutionary surgical technique that has transformed orthopedic procedures, allowing for minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment of joint-related disorders.
The conference showcased robotic-assisted orthopedic surgeries, AI-driven techniques, and integration-based advancements, demonstrating how these cutting-edge technologies can enhance surgical precision. More than 600 young surgeons attended the live surgical workshop, gaining hands-on experience from experts.
The event also featured over 60 renowned national and international orthopedic specialists who participated in discussions on advancements in arthroscopic surgery. Among the key participants were Dr. R.A. Poornachandra Tejaswi, Senior Sports Arthroscopy Surgeon at Yashoda Hospitals, and other leading medical professionals.
