Hyderabad: Governor Jishnu Dev Varma on Tuesday inaugurated the annual notebook distribution drive organised by the Hyderabad branch of Bharat Sevashram Sangha at Raj Bhavan High School, Somajiguda.
The initiative saw the distribution of 4,000 long notebooks and 1,600 short notebooks to students. The Governor was joined by Principal Secretary to the Governor M. Dana Kishore, Swami Munishwaranandaji Maharaj, Secretary of the Hyderabad Ashram, and Swami Venkateswaranandaji Maharaj.
Commending the Sangha for its sustained efforts in educational support, the Governor lauded its contribution through consistent social service. He also praised the teaching staff for their role in achieving high academic outcomes, particularly the school’s top performance in the district’s Class 10 board exams.
He expressed hope that the school would achieve a 100 percent pass rate in the coming academic year. Responding to a request from the Headmaster, the Governor announced that classroom furniture, a shaded stage, and a mini indoor stadium-cum-auditorium would be funded through his discretionary grant.
The Sangha’s initiative will continue across Telangana, providing educational materials to students in multiple districts as part of its outreach efforts.
