Hyderabad: Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar on Tuesday said the Telangana government remains fully committed to the promotion of Urdu language, which he described as a core part of the state’s cultural heritage.
He was addressing the “Best Urdu Teachers Awards” function at Telangana Vidya Parishad Bhavan. The Minister said Urdu promotes linguistic unity and social harmony. “Urdu serves as a bridge of linguistic brotherhood,” he said. “Teachers carry this heritage forward to the next generation.”
He assured that the state will continue supporting Urdu education, language development, and literary programs.
During the event, the government honoured 173 Urdu teachers from across Telangana for their dedicated service.
State Urdu Academy President Tahir Bin Amdan, Waqf Board Chairman Azmatullah, Minority Commission Chairman Tariq Ansari, Urdu Academy Director Sajjad Ali, senior journalist M.A. Majid, TMREIS President Fahim Qureshi, and Minority Department Secretary Shafiullah also attended the ceremony.
