Hyderabad: The Telangana government will strengthen Niloufer Hospital, known for pediatric care, by upgrading infrastructure and patient facilities. Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha on Thursday directed officials to prioritise the hospital’s development.
At a review meeting with officials at the Aarogyasri Trust office, the minister asked them to improve all departments at Niloufer. He told them to speed up construction of the new hospital block and to arrange hostel accommodation for postgraduate students.
Raja Narasimha stressed that attendants accompanying patients must also have accommodation inside the hospital campus. He instructed officials to fill vacancies in line with cadre strength to ensure adequate staff.
Niloufer handles the second-highest OP and IP cases among Osmania Medical College–affiliated hospitals. The minister said the hospital requires more funds and directed an increase in financial allocation to meet growing demand.
Later, he inspected the hospital building conditions with TGMSIDC engineers. He asked them to focus on infrastructure, human resources, repairs to equipment, drinking water supply, sanitation, drainage, and overall facilities for patients and attendants.
The meeting was attended by Health Secretary Dr. Christina, TGMSIDC MD Phaninder Reddy, DME Dr. Narendra Kumar, Additional DME Dr. Vani, Niloufer Superintendent Dr. Vijay Kumar, and senior engineers.
