HYDERABAD: A grand welcome was accorded to Femina Miss India 2023, Nandini Gupta, at the Begumpet Tourism Plaza in Hyderabad on Saturday. Telangana Minister for Tourism Ponnam Prabhakar and Principal Secretary for Tourism Smita Sabharwal warmly received her on the occasion.
The event was organised in the backdrop of the upcoming Miss World 2025 pageant, scheduled to be held across various locations in Telangana from 7 May to 31 May. The international beauty contest is expected to see participation from approximately 140 countries, with both the opening and closing ceremonies set to take place in Hyderabad.
The state government has allocated around ₹200 crore for this international event, aiming to boost investment and tourism in Telangana. Hosting the Miss World 2025 pageant is being seen as a significant step towards promoting the cultural and tourism sectors of the state.
Nandini Gupta praised the Telangana government’s hospitality and commended the state’s warm reception. She remarked that Miss World 2025 would not only be a beauty contest but also an opportunity to showcase Telangana’s culture, traditions, and hospitality to a global audience.
The event was attended by various government officials, representatives from the tourism sector, and members of the media. During the celebrations, glimpses of Telangana’s cultural heritage were presented to acquaint the guests with the state’s rich traditions.
The Telangana government views hosting this international event as a historic opportunity to enhance the state’s global identity while simultaneously boosting the local economy and tourism industry.
