Hyderabad: Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing held a drug awareness programme at Avinash College of Commerce, Himayatnagar branch, on Thursday.
Addressing students, DCP Y.V.S. Sudheendra, who heads the Task Force and H-NEW, cautioned against drug use and flagged the long-term consequences. He told students drug abuse would derail careers and attract criminal cases. He warned them to stay away from peer groups promoting drug use.
College principal Y.S.S. Savitri Devi and Kapil, officer on special duty to the Avinash Group chairman, said the initiative would help students understand risks and avoid falling into addiction.
H-NEW said similar programmes would be held in more institutions. The agency is running regular outreach as part of its campaign to cut drug supply and reduce use among students.
