Hyderabad: A Hanamkonda doctor was booked for abetment after his wife, a dental surgeon, was found dead at their Hasanparthy residence on Monday, with her family alleging sustained harassment and extra-marital abuse.
The deceased, Dr Pratyusha, was employed at a private hospital. Her husband, Dr Alladi Srujan, is an assistant professor at Kakatiya Medical College and a consultant with Medicover Hospital. The couple married in 2017 and had two daughters.
Her father, Gajjela Ramakrishna—district president of the TNGOs Association—accused Srujan of mental and physical abuse, citing his relationship with a woman named Shruti, identified as a social media influencer.
According to the complaint, Pratyusha had been subjected to repeated clashes and neglect. Family members alleged that Srujan’s relatives encouraged the relationship and harassed her. A day before the incident, the children were reportedly taken to Cherla in Kothagudem by the in-laws.
Ramakrishna claimed Pratyusha’s body bore bleeding injuries and suggested the possibility of murder disguised as suicide.
Hasanparthy police registered a case against Dr Srujan based on the family’s complaint and detained him for questioning.
