HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has suspended former Engineer-in-Chief (ENC) Hariram Nayak after the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted raids at his residence, uncovering assets allegedly disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Nayak, who played a pivotal role in the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project, came under scrutiny following allegations of corruption. The ACB’s investigation led to searches at his properties, during which officials reportedly seized substantial documentation indicating ownership of multiple high-value assets.
Among the properties identified were luxury residences in Kondapur and Madhapur, several villas, agricultural lands, and farmhouses. The scale and value of these assets raised concerns, prompting further investigation.
Following his arrest in connection with the disproportionate assets case, Nayak was remanded to judicial custody. In light of these developments, the state government issued suspension orders against him.
The suspension underscores the government’s commitment to addressing corruption and maintaining integrity within its departments.
