HYDERABAD: Former Minister and senior BRS leader Harish Rao launched a fierce attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of disrespecting former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and misleading the people of Telangana. Addressing a press conference, Harish Rao questioned Revanth Reddy’s governance, challenged him to a debate on Telangana’s development, and demanded answers on key electoral promises.
Harish Rao criticized Revanth Reddy’s statements against KCR, asking, “Is this the language of a Chief Minister?” He accused Revanth of lacking political etiquette and claimed that Telangana’s reputation was suffering due to his “Tughlaq-like decisions.” Harish Rao also demanded an apology from Revanth Reddy for his remarks on KCR.
He threw an open challenge to Revanth Reddy, inviting him to visit constituencies like Madhira, Kodangal, or Siddipet to discuss government achievements. On the issue of farm loan waivers, Harish Rao demanded proof of full implementation, stating, “If the Congress government has completed the waiver, I will accept it. Otherwise, you must apologize to the people.”
Slamming the government’s failure in job creation, Harish Rao alleged that Revanth Reddy’s administration had failed to provide even 7,000 jobs, despite lofty promises. He mocked the Congress party’s MLC election loss as a verdict against the CM’s leadership, stating, “In just 15 months, Revanth Reddy has become a burden on Telangana.”
On the Krishna water dispute, Harish Rao credited KCR for securing 70% water rights for Telangana and accused Revanth Reddy of distorting facts in the Assembly. He criticized the appointment of Andhra Pradesh figures in Telangana’s government advisory roles and questioned whether Revanth Reddy was acting under the influence of his “political mentor” Chandrababu Naidu.
Regarding irrigation projects, he accused Revanth Reddy of attempting to block Palamuru lift irrigation at Jurala, showing a lack of understanding of Telangana’s water needs. Harish Rao highlighted that KCR had built reservoirs storing 102 TMC of Krishna water, compared to just 20 TMC during Andhra’s rule.
Targeting the government’s handling of public hospitals, Harish Rao stated that TIMS, Warangal Super Specialty Hospital, and NIMS expansions had stalled. “Hospitals today lack basic medicines and equipment. Under Revanth’s rule, people fear going to government hospitals,” he added.
Harish Rao concluded by stating that he and KTR were not competing for positions but were committed to restoring KCR as Chief Minister. “Until all six guarantees and 420 promises are fulfilled, we will continue our fight,” he declared.
