Hyderabad: BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao accused the Congress government of running a “commission raj” in Telangana and using inquiry panels as political weapons against the opposition.
Delivering a statewide PowerPoint presentation titled “Congress conspiracies on Kaleshwaram: distortions, commissions, facts” at Telangana Bhavan, Harish Rao claimed governance had collapsed since Congress took power.
He alleged that farmers were left without irrigation and proper urea supply, and that key reports were being leaked selectively to tarnish BRS. He said digital screens had been set up in all districts for party cadre to view the presentation.
Harish Rao charged that inquiry commissions were being manipulated to target political opponents and claimed the Kaleshwaram report was released strategically ahead of local elections.
He contrasted the probe with the Centre’s inaction on Polavaram in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, saying that despite three collapses there, national agencies like NDMA had not even visited the site.
Calling the recent 655-page report on Kaleshwaram “one-sided and full of lies,” Harish Rao said it was leaked to the media before BRS received official notice.
He challenged the government to table the entire report in the Assembly and vowed to expose every falsehood point by point. “If you bring that report to the Assembly, we will tear it apart,” he warned.
