Hyderabad: Former Minister and BRS senior leader T. Harish Rao on Tuesday said people across Telangana now want KCR back in power, as both the BJP and Congress had failed to protect the state’s interests.
Speaking to reporters, Harish Rao accused the BJP of reducing its slogan ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ to “complete non-sense.” He questioned why Telangana BJP MPs remain silent on national policy issues. Only strong regional parties can make the Centre act on state matters, he said, pointing to Andhra Pradesh’s TDP as an example.
Kaleshwaram defended, police warned
Harish Rao called Chief Minister Revanth Reddy a “cutting master,” saying his work was limited to ribbon-cutting events. He defended the Kaleshwaram project and asked, “If it had failed, how is water reaching Hyderabad from Mallannasagar?”
He warned police officers against targeting BRS workers with false cases. “These actions will go into the pink book and won’t be forgotten once BRS returns,” he said.
BRS to protest irrigation delays
Rao said the Congress had reduced its six guarantees to “worthless bond papers.” Comparing farm loan waivers, he stated that KCR had cleared ₹33,000 crore, while Congress managed only ₹19,000 crore.
He announced that BRS would launch a mass agitation for the Sangameshwara-Basaveshwara project in Sangareddy, which aims to irrigate 1.2 lakh acres.
Highlighting past achievements, he said KCR had ensured real opportunities for Backward Classes, especially in market committees.
‘KCR will return’
Harish Rao concluded by saying, “People now want Congress to go and KCR to return.”
