HYDERABAD: Former Finance Minister and senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao strongly criticised the Congress-led state government, questioning the absence of a clear Telangana vision for development. He stated that the current administration lacked both a concrete strategy and policy direction.
Addressing a press conference, Harish Rao said that the BRS government had placed Telangana on a progressive path over the past decade. However, he alleged that the incumbent government had brought all those initiatives to a standstill. He accused the ruling party of being engaged solely in political vendetta and superficial activities.
He further stated that farmers, students, labourers, and the middle class were all disillusioned, as the government had failed to allocate adequate funds for key welfare schemes in the budget. According to him, there was no visible roadmap for the implementation of the promises made by the Congress before the elections.
Rao urged the Congress to respect the sentiments of the people of Telangana and the state’s unique identity. He called for the immediate presentation of a comprehensive development plan to resume the process of public welfare.
Political analysts view Harish Rao’s remarks as an attempt to increase pressure on the Congress government and to retain public support for the BRS. The Congress has not yet issued a response to the statement.
