Hyderabad: Former minister and senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao said his political career was like an open book and dismissed allegations made against him by opposition parties. He made the remarks on Saturday after arriving at Shamshabad airport from the UK.
Speaking to reporters, Harish Rao said the opposition had been targeting him with false charges, but his two decades in public life were transparent before the people of Telangana. He also responded to comments made by K. Kavitha, stating that the reasons behind her remarks were best known to her.
Harish Rao defends track record in BRS government
Rao recalled serving in K. Chandrashekar Rao’s cabinet for 10 years with discipline and commitment to Telangana’s development. During this time, he handled the irrigation and finance portfolios and oversaw key projects. According to him, people had already judged his performance, and he did not need to defend it before critics.
His political journey, he added, was built on trust and responsibility. Multiple election victories from Siddipet reflected the confidence that voters continued to place in him.
Concern over farmers and flood-hit citizens
Expressing concern over farmers, he said shortages of fertilisers had put agriculture under strain. Citizens in several districts, meanwhile, were struggling with flood-related hardships. “It is the responsibility of KCR to safeguard Telangana in these circumstances,” he remarked.
He also stressed the need for long-term planning, pointing out that flood management, farmer support, and rural employment remained urgent priorities.
Vows to strengthen BRS and return to power
Harish Rao accused political opponents of betraying the state by neglecting core issues. In his view, the BRS would regroup and return to power by addressing people’s concerns directly. “By working together, we can restore public confidence and continue the fight for Telangana’s progress,” he said.
