Hyderabad: BRS senior leader and Siddipet MLA T. Harish Rao launched a blistering attack on Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of neglecting students’ basic needs while promoting lofty ambitions under “Vision 2047.”
Rao said the Congress-led government had paralysed the state’s education system during its 20-month tenure and failed even to provide adequate mid-day meals in government schools. “It’s a joke that the CM talks about a golden future for students when they can’t even get a full meal,” he said.
He alleged that for the past three months, the government has not cleared meal bills, leading to disruption in food quality and nutrition. “Instead of a nutritious meal, children now receive plain rice and watered-down curry,” Rao said, calling it a shame for any state that claims to prioritise youth development.
Mocking the chief minister’s “integrated schools” and “skill universities” rhetoric, Rao claimed there is no ground-level execution. “These are hollow slogans with no substance,” he added.
Rao further criticised the deterioration of Gurukula institutions and eroding public confidence in government schools. He questioned the absence of an active education minister in the cabinet, asking, “Is the education department an orphan in this government?”
He demanded immediate action to restore meal quality, reinstate educational standards, and ensure that the department is no longer neglected.
