Hyderabad: BRS MLA T. Harish Rao accused the Congress government of negligence after three students were hospitalized following rat bites in a Gurukul Hostel in Alampur, Jogulamba Gadwal district.
In a post on social media, Harish Rao described the incident at the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Hostel as “shocking.” He said students continued to face dangers such as rat bites, dog bites, snake bites, and electric shocks under Congress rule.
Harish Rao cites failures in Gurukul Hostel management
The MLA criticized Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, asking why his earlier promises to monitor Gurukul Hostels had not been kept. Harish Rao recalled Reddy’s assurance that poor quality food would lead to strict action, including jail terms, and said no such accountability was visible.
He alleged that neglect and poor governance were putting students’ lives at risk. Harish Rao demanded an immediate high-level review of Gurukul Hostel issues and a special drive to resolve safety and food-related problems.
