HYDERABAD: Former minister and Siddipet MLA T. Harish Rao launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of making tall claims while failing to take concrete action. During a visit to Ibrahimnagar village in Chinnakodur mandal, Siddipet district, on Saturday (April 12), Rao inspected crops damaged by hailstorms.
Speaking to the media, Harish Rao pointed out that while 5,300 farmers in Chinnakodur mandal have received loan waivers, another 7,352 are still waiting. He challenged the state government, saying that if it could prove 100% loan waiver in any village, he would “rub his nose to the ground and resign.”
He further criticised the government for announcing crop insurance in the budget but failing to implement it. “Had the government really insured crops, it would have benefited the farmers during this unseasonal rainfall,” Harish Rao said.
Demanding support for farmers affected by the recent rains, he urged the government to distribute free seeds in the upcoming monsoon season and to provide an input subsidy of ₹25,000 per acre.
In a sharp jibe, Harish Rao mocked the Chief Minister for mourning the death of Vanajeevi Ramaiah, a known environmentalist, while allegedly engaging in activities that harm trees. “It’s like a killer offering condolences,” he remarked.
He also claimed that due to Revanth Reddy’s faulty decisions, officials are being forced into dire situations, with some losing their jobs and facing imprisonment.
