Hyderabad: Former minister and Siddipet MLA T. Harish Rao launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday, accusing him of neglecting the urea shortage crisis faced by farmers in Telangana.
Speaking after inaugurating a new BRS office at Nangunuru in Siddipet district, Harish Rao said the Chief Minister was more interested in beauty contests than in addressing the urgent needs of farmers. He alleged that despite visiting Delhi 51 times, Revanth Reddy had failed to secure urea supplies for the state.

The BRS legislator accused the Congress government of pushing the state into “emergency-style governance” without reviewing the situation even once. He contrasted the current shortages with the tenure of former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, claiming that under BRS rule farmers had easy access to fertilisers, whereas now they were forced to plead with police for urea.
Harish Rao warned that Congress leaders would be stopped from moving freely in villages if farmers did not receive immediate relief. “Provide urea at once, or we will intensify the agitation,” he said, accusing the government of ignoring rural distress.
He further criticised the Congress for failing to clear crop bonus dues of ₹1,300 crore despite three months passing since paddy procurement, and for not completing loan waivers promised to farmers. “This government has only cheated farmers in the name of loan waiver,” he said.
Harish Rao alleged that Revanth Reddy’s administration was sleeping while farmers suffered sleepless nights due to fertiliser scarcity. He accused the Chief Minister of focusing solely on attacking KCR instead of delivering governance.
