Hyderabad: Senior BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao on Saturday accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of failing to handle the flood situation in Telangana. He urged the government to stop political fights and instead focus on relief for stranded citizens.
In posts on X, Harish Rao said the state ignored weather alerts that warned of heavy rains. He added that the government took no preventive steps. “This is a crime of neglect,” he wrote.
Harish Rao slams Telangana government over floods
Harish Rao pointed to failures in flood forecasting, planning, and coordination among departments. He said these lapses pushed Hyderabad into waterlogging. According to him, passengers at Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) suffered when Musi River water entered the station.
He also said many passengers could not travel to their hometowns for the festival. Families in areas close to Musi lived in fear as floodwater rose dangerously.
The BRS leader asked the Chief Minister to stop “mud politics” and work on safe evacuation. He called on the government to share updates, alert citizens, and reassure those affected by flooding.
Finally, Harish Rao appealed to Hyderabad residents to remain watchful as heavy rains and Musi floods continued.
