HYDERABAD, February 13: Senior BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao has urged the Telangana government to take immediate measures to address drinking water shortages in the state. With summer approaching, he stressed the need for proactive steps to ensure uninterrupted water supply to households.
Harish Rao pointed out that water scarcity is already affecting several areas and warned that the situation could worsen in the coming months. He called upon officials to strengthen existing infrastructure, particularly through Mission Bhagiratha, which was launched to provide safe drinking water across Telangana.
Accusing the Congress government of neglecting water supply issues, he demanded urgent intervention to prevent hardships for residents. He also urged local administrations to identify vulnerable areas and implement contingency plans.
With rising temperatures and increasing demand for water, the issue is expected to remain a key concern in the state. The government has yet to respond to Harish Rao’s remarks.
