Among those detained were one interstate drug peddler, one ganja supplier, four sub-peddlers, and two consumers. A case has been registered at Masab Tank Police Station.
Police identified the main accused as Mohammed Faizan of Masab Tank and Yelagada Navya of Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh. Sub-peddlers were named as Kundurthi Veerachary, Sam Ajay Kumar, Vemula Harshith, and Mohammed Sameer. Consumers apprehended included Sam Vijay Kumar and Syed Murthuza Ali Hussain.
Based on credible information, police intercepted Faizan, Harshith, Sameer, and Murthuza near the Pension Office bus stop in Masab Tank. Faizan was found in possession of hash oil and charas, along with two daggers and 175 grams of ganja hidden in his Yamaha RX100 bike. Sameer was also carrying hash oil.
Interrogation revealed that Harshith and Sameer had sold the hash oil to Faizan for ₹3,000. The supply chain led to the arrest of Sam Ajay and Veerachary from Gajularamaram, who were found with two more boxes of hash oil. They disclosed that the substance was procured from Navya, who was later found in possession of 71 boxes. Navya claimed to have sourced the material from Andhra Pradesh.
In total, police seized 375 ml of hash oil (worth ₹2.25 lakh), 175 grams of ganja (₹7,500), 3 grams of charas (₹2,000), two daggers, 15 chillams, three two-wheelers (Yamaha R15, KTM Duke, Yamaha RX100), eight mobile phones, five OCB paper rolls with filters, six ATM cards, and a ganja crusher. The total value of seized property was estimated at ₹6.5 lakh.
Previous narcotics cases were already pending against Veerachary, Murthuza, and Sam Vijay Kumar.
Officials appealed to the public, particularly youth, to stay away from drugs and report suspicious activity. Authorities warned that substance abuse could lead to irreversible damage including health issues, criminal records, and loss of livelihood.
