Hyderabad: Another key development in the Hyderabad Cricket Association irregularities case. The Telangana Cricket Association has lodged a formal complaint with the CID, naming BRS leaders K.T. Rama Rao and K. Kavitha as being behind Jagan Mohan Rao’s sudden entry into the recent HCA elections.
TCA officials met with CID Additional Director General Charu Sinha to demand a probe into what they termed a politically-backed takeover of the HCA. The complaint referenced Jagan Mohan Rao’s public dedication of his election win to KTR, Kavitha, and T. Harish Rao as evidence of undue political involvement.
The TCA has also sought action against unnamed individuals within HCA, calling for a broader investigation into corruption and irregularities. The complaint pointed to large-scale misuse of BCCI funds over ₹500–600 crore disbursed in the last decade with no corresponding cricket infrastructure visible in Hyderabad.
Despite receiving substantial grants, HCA had failed to acquire assets or develop basic facilities, the TCA noted. The association has asked CID to examine the personal wealth accumulation of several HCA office-bearers, alleging entrenched corruption and financial misconduct over the years.
