Heavy inflows continue at Jurala Project, 12 gates lifted

Hyderabad: Heavy flood inflows are continuing at the Jurala Project in Jogulamba Gadwal district, officials said on Sunday. Due to rainfall upstream, the project is receiving around 1.4 lakh cusecs of floodwater.

To manage the surge, authorities opened 12 gates, releasing 1.15 lakh cusecs through the spillway. An additional 25,691 cusecs was discharged through power generation, bringing the total outflow to 1,42,830 cusecs.

The full reservoir level of the Jurala Project is 318.518 metres, while the current water level stands at 317.190 metres. Out of its total storage capacity of 9.657 TMC, the present storage is 7.079 TMC.
