Hyderabad: Several areas in Hyderabad received heavy rain on Sunday, leading to traffic jams and delays. Localities like LB Nagar, Nagole, Mansoorabad, Vanasthalipuram, Hayathnagar, Pedda Amberpet, and the Ramoji Film City zone were affected.
Rainwater flooded parts of the Hyderabad–Vijayawada highway, slowing vehicle movement. Drivers and passengers had difficulty moving through the waterlogged roads.
Around 9:35 p.m., Hyderabad Traffic Police posted a video on X, warning about waterlogging near Panjagutta heading toward Monappa Island. They urged commuters to take alternate routes and drive carefully.
IMD warns of more rain and winds
The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre forecast rain and thunderstorms in parts of Telangana for the next three days. Gusty winds between 30 to 40 km/h are also likely.
The IMD director said a low-pressure area may form over the east-central Bay of Bengal and north Bay by September 25. This system could become a depression near the Odisha–Andhra coast by September 26 and might cross the coast the next day.
