Hyderabad: Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao on Friday announced that Telangana will soon launch heli tourism, linking Hyderabad with Somasila and Srisailam. The project, taken up with Is My Trip, will give tourists short aerial rides and boost the state’s tourism appeal.
Major tourism projects launched
Jupally laid the foundation for the Somashila Wellness and Spiritual Retreat Nallamala project worth ₹68.10 crore. He also launched the ₹45.84 crore Amaragiri Island Wellness Retreat and began trenching work for the Somashila VIP Ghat–Boating Point valued at ₹1.60 crore.
Plans for adventure and water tourism
“Telangana has ideal conditions for tourism, but the sector was ignored for a decade. Now, under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s guidance, we will promote water sports, adventure activities, and world-class hospitality. A full campaign will target both Indian and foreign tourists,” Jupally said.
He said floating jetties would improve access to Amaragiri Island on the Krishna River in the Nallamalla forests. The projects, he added, would finish within a year and draw more visitors.
The Minister said the completion of the Somasila–Siddeswaram bridge would cut travel time and raise footfall. “Tourism development will increase state revenue and create jobs for local people,” he said.
Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Patel Ramesh Reddy and other officials joined the event.
