Hyderabad: Security agencies declared a high alert at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad ahead of Independence Day celebrations on August 15. The Centre issued similar alerts to all airports across the country as part of precautionary measures.
Officials in Telangana intensified security to prevent any untoward incidents. At Shamshabad airport, visitor entry was temporarily suspended under the high alert. CISF officers placed special surveillance on several suspects.

With several international flights arriving directly from abroad, bomb disposal and dog squads conducted intensive checks throughout the premises. Authorities said the heightened security protocol will remain in place until August 30.
