High Court defers verdict on plea by KTR, Jagadish Reddy to quash FIR

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court has postponed its verdict on the petition filed by BRS Working President K. Taraka Rama Rao and Suryapet MLA G. Jagadish Reddy seeking quashing of an FIR registered at Medipalli Police Station in the Rachakonda Commissionerate.

Justice Mousami Bhattacharya reserved the judgment after concluding arguments from both parties on Friday.

The FIR stems from a complaint lodged by expelled Congress MLC Chintapandu Naveen Kumar, also known as Teenmar Mallanna, alleging the circulation of fake videos against him during the recent MLC elections. The complainant demanded legal action against the two BRS leaders.

Appearing for the petitioners, advocate T.V. Ramana Rao argued that the case was politically motivated and lacked substantive evidence. He contended that the accused had made no personal remarks and urged the court to dismiss the FIR on the grounds of the absence of material proof.

The High Court will issue its ruling at a later date.
