Hyderabad, January 7: The Telangana High Court has dismissed a petition filed by BRS Working President K Tarakarama Rao (KTR) seeking to quash the case against him in connection with the Formula E car race controversy. The court, after hearing arguments from both sides, ruled against the petition and also withdrew the interim orders previously issued to prevent KTR’s arrest.
Following the verdict, KTR is reportedly considering moving the Supreme Court to challenge the High Court’s decision. Discussions regarding the legal strategy are underway at KTR’s residence in Nandinagar, with Siddipet MLA Harish Rao, MLC Kavitha, and other senior leaders in attendance.
The court’s decision has sparked concern among BRS members, who have gathered in large numbers at KTR’s residence to express their support. Party members have voiced their dissatisfaction with the ruling, while the legal team is exploring possible next steps.
The case pertains to alleged irregularities linked to the Formula E race organised in Hyderabad, which has been under scrutiny. While KTR and his team maintain that all activities were conducted transparently, the opposition has been vocal in questioning the event’s financial dealings.
