Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka demanded the highest civil services selection from Telangana, saying the State must top the nation in successful candidates. He spoke at Praja Bhavan on Monday during a Singareni Collieries Company Limited event that granted ₹1 lakh each to 178 aspirants who cleared the UPSC Mains.
Calling human resources the State’s strongest investment, Bhatti said that, when honed, individual talent can serve society like a polished diamond. He credited Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for starting focused support to civil services aspirants. The decision, he said, showed the government’s commitment to helping talent reach public service goals.
This is the programme’s second year. In 2024, 148 candidates received assistance; 10 secured selection. This year, each Mains-qualified candidate will receive ₹1 lakh. Interview-stage aspirants will get another ₹1 lakh and accommodation in Delhi.
The Deputy Chief Minister promised complete cooperation for those aiming at the UPSC. He said the bureaucracy safeguards democracy and improves people’s lives.
Among thousands of officers who served the State, Bhatti recalled only a few S.R. Shankaran, Parthasarathy, and Madhav Rao whose dedication remains in public memory. He urged candidates to serve with equal commitment so their names endure for generations.
