Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) will distribute one lakh eco-friendly Ganesh idols free of cost to citizens and NGOs ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi. Each idol will be eight inches tall.
The initiative encourages the use of eco-friendly materials during the festival. HMDA will conduct the drive at 34 locations across the city from August 24 to 26.

Major distribution points include KBR Park Main Entrance, Press Club-Somajiguda, Yellamma Temple-Balkampet, Peddamma Temple-Jubilee Hills, Rythu Bazar-Mehdipatnam, Shilparamam-Hitec City, Uppal, Ganesh Temple-Secunderabad, HMDA Office-Maitrivanam, Tank Bund, Secretariat, NTR Garden, Priyadarshini Park-Saroornagar, Rajeev Gandhi Park-Vanasthalipuram, Kundan Bagh IAS Colony-Begumpet, Durgam Cheruvu Park, Melokote Park-Nayaranguda, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan-Sainikpuri, Safilguda Park, and MindSpace Junction.
