HMDA has proposed the ‘West Hyderabad Tourism Circuit’ to boost tourism, connecting Kotwal Guda Eco Park, Bapu Ghat, Taramati Baradari, and Chilkur Forest Trek Park through an integrated circuit.
HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has unveiled plans to develop a ‘West Hyderabad Tourism Circuit’ to enhance tourism opportunities in the western part of the city. This circuit will integrate Kotwal Guda Eco Park, Bapu Ghat, Taramati Baradari, and Chilkur Forest Trek Park with seamless connectivity.
To execute this project, HMDA has invited an Expression of Interest (EOI) from firms willing to develop it under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The selected firm will undertake the project under the Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Transfer (DBFOT) model. While HMDA will facilitate land allocation and infrastructure support, the private partner will be responsible for designing, financing, and operating the circuit.
Key Features of the Tourism Circuit
The proposed circuit will span approximately 31 km, connecting key tourist attractions:
Langer House to Taramati Baradari – 3.8 km
Bapu Ghat to Kotwal Guda Eco Park – 13.5 km
Himayat Sagar to Narsingi Trek Park – 7.5 km
Forest Trek Park to Taramati Baradari – 6 km
This integrated circuit will make it easier for tourists to explore all four destinations seamlessly.
The selected firms will be responsible for designing roads, shopping centers, and food stalls in an attractive manner. They will also bear operational and maintenance costs under a lease agreement. Once the lease term expires, the project will be handed back to the government.
HMDA officials have stated that this project will feature world-class amenities and innovative tourism concepts. Additionally, customized tourist packages will be introduced to attract visitors.
