Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Independence Day celebrations took place at Metro Rail Bhavan with patriotic fervour. Managing Director NVS Reddy hoisted the national flag and greeted employees and their families.
Reddy paid tribute to leaders who fought for India’s freedom. He urged staff to match that spirit in their work for national progress and Hyderabad’s transformation. He said Metro Phase-2 formed a key part of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s plan to make the city world-class in mobility and infrastructure.
Phase-2 readiness and Old City expansion
The MD directed officials to finish all preparatory work quickly so construction could start once Phase-2 approvals arrive. He stressed that early readiness would speed up execution.
He also gave updates on the Old City metro corridor. He said groundwork was moving ahead and tenders would be invited soon. This expansion, he noted, would connect heritage areas to the wider network, boosting both transport and local economies.
Reddy called for advanced construction technology to keep deadlines without losing quality. He said modern systems would also improve passenger safety and operational efficiency.
He encouraged Hyderabad Metro staff to see their work as part of a historic infrastructure mission. Every contribution, he said, would help deliver projects to serve future generations.
Senior HMRL officials attended the Hyderabad Metro Independence Day event, marking it with unity and a shared commitment to faster urban transport growth.
