Hyderabad: Home voting for senior citizens and persons with disabilities began today in the Jubilee Hills by-election. Election teams will visit the homes of eligible voters to help them cast their votes.
The Election Commission introduced this facility for voters aged above 85 years and for those with more than 40 per cent disability. According to officials, 84 senior citizens and 19 disabled voters applied through Form-21 to vote from home.
Jubilee Hills by-election home voting to cover 103 voters
Returning Officer Sai Ram said polling officials will conduct home voting for these 103 voters on November 4 and 6 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. He stated that arrangements are in place to ensure the process runs smoothly and transparently.
This initiative aims to make voting easier for elderly and differently abled citizens who may face difficulty reaching polling stations.
