Hyderabad: A man hacked his wife to death and fled in Medchal district’s Kushaiguda police station limits, triggering panic in the locality.
Police identified the accused as Boda Shankar, 40, a native of Addagudur village in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district. His wife Manjula, 35, died on the spot. The couple had three children — one daughter and two sons.

Shankar had travelled four days ago with his family to his sister’s house in Mahesh Nagar Colony. Around midnight on Friday, he attacked Manjula with a knife while the rest of the family slept. Her cries woke the household, but Shankar fled before anyone could stop him.
Police reached the scene and confirmed Manjula’s death. Officers registered a case and launched a manhunt to trace the accused. Investigators are examining family circumstances to establish the motive behind the killing.
