Hyderabad Collector launches WhatsApp service for Prajavani grievances

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad District Collectorate has introduced a WhatsApp-based facility for submitting grievances under the weekly Prajavani programme, according to Collector Harichandana Dasari.

Residents unable to attend the Monday public grievance meetings in person—including the elderly, persons with disabilities, and working individuals—can now WhatsApp their petitions to 7416687878. The move is aimed at expanding access while reducing the need for physical presence.

The Collector said petitions sent through WhatsApp would be received and downloaded by district staff, uploaded to a dedicated portal, and assigned a unique ID number. This system allows applicants to track their submissions while avoiding travel and loss of wages.

The initiative is expected to ease the process for daily wage workers and senior citizens, allowing them to submit their concerns without disrupting work or enduring long travel. Officials said the digital process will maintain the same follow-up and tracking mechanism as physical submissions.
