HYDERABAD: Jai Bharat National Secretary Ramanamurthy condemned the attack on Chilkur Balaji Temple chief priest Rangarajan by a mob led by Veera Raghavareddy. He urged every citizen to oppose such violence.
Speaking at a state-level roundtable organized by the Kula Vivaksha Vyatireka Porata Samiti (KVPS) in Hyderabad, Ramanamurthy criticized Veera Raghavareddy for using religion to recruit youth. He alleged that Raghavareddy, who claims to be a descendant of Lord Rama’s Ikshvaku dynasty, is mobilizing temple youth in the Telugu states. He accused him of demanding temple lands and funds to build an armed group in the name of Hindu dharma.
Ramanamurthy warned against arming young individuals with tridents (Trishuls) and fueling fanaticism under the guise of devotion. He urged people to resist such forces and protect the state from communal violence.
Vijayashankaraswamy, Chairman of Annamayya Kala Kshetram, also condemned religious extremism. He called on civil society to reject divisive ideologies.
Speakers at the event also addressed caste-based violence. They accused organizations like the RSS, BJP, and Hindu Vahini of selective outrage. They claimed these groups react when Hindus face attacks from Muslims but remain silent when Hindus harm other Hindus or when Dalits suffer violence.
The gathering denounced using religion to incite violence. They called for a united effort to protect constitutional rights and maintain communal harmony in the state.
