Hyderabad: Director General and Commissioner of Police C.V. Anand, IPS, met members of the Central Peace and Welfare Committee on Wednesday at the TG ICCC Auditorium, Banjara Hills. The meeting focused on ensuring peaceful celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi and Milad-un-Nabi.
Police–community cooperation
CP Anand praised the committee’s role in maintaining communal harmony in Hyderabad. With nearly 1,500 members, the group has helped bridge communities and preserve the city’s legacy of Ganga–Jamuna Tehzeeb.
“The services of peace committee members are crucial in the coming days. Work with the police, bring more youth into the committee, and strengthen law and order. Effective policing is possible only when the police and community act together,” Anand said.
Committee’s assurance
Committee members highlighted the need for strong police–public ties to resolve issues quickly. They promised full cooperation for the upcoming festivals and pledged to fight anti-social activities while promoting unity and peace.

The session was also attended by Vikram Singh Mann, IPS, Additional CP (Law & Order) and Chairman of the Central Peace and Welfare Committee; K. Apoorva Rao, IPS, DCP Special Branch, Vice Chairman; Sneha Mehra, IPS, DCP South Zone, Coordinator; along with senior officers. Office-bearers such as Kishan Sharma, General Secretary, Hafiz Muzaffar Hussain, Shashikanth Agarwal, Mohammad Mozam Ali, and Tejo Vijaya Kumari also participated. Nearly 350 members joined the meeting.
