HYDERABAD, February 1: The Cyber Crime Police of CCS, Detective Department, Hyderabad, arrested five individuals for allegedly cheating a victim through a fraudulent part-time job scheme using Naukri.com. The accused lured the complainant with promises of high returns and induced him to transfer ₹1,93,760. The case was registered under Cr.No. 97/2025 at the Cyber Crime Police Station.
The arrested individuals have been identified as:
1. Paladugula Devakrupa (35) – Resident of Khairatabad, Hyderabad.
2. V.V Shiva Shankar (45) – Resident of Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.
3. Betham Balaraju (31) – Resident of Narsingi, Rangareddy, Telangana.
4. Mantri N S Prajwal Reddy (24) – Resident of Rangareddy, Telangana.
5. C. Vijay Sagar (26) – Resident of Manikonda, Hyderabad.
Police have seized, six mobile phones, one cash counting machine, eleven passbooks, six chequebooks and three debit cards from them. The accused conspired to make easy money by posing as representatives of Naukri.com. They contacted the victim via phone, offering a part-time job that involved writing hotel reviews. After securing an initial payment, they introduced a concept called “Ladder,” falsely claiming that the victim’s account had been “frozen” due to incorrect actions. They then pressured him to make additional payments to “unfreeze” the funds, ultimately leading to a financial loss of ₹1,93,760.
The operation was led by Inspector K. Madhulatha, along with SI Vijay Cheryala, B. Pranitha, and other police personnel under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner of Police Sri Shiva Maruthi.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Cyber Crime Unit, Hyderabad, Dara Kavitha, confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and urged citizens to remain cautious of such online scams.
