Hyderabad: The Special Task Force (STF) of the Excise Police arrested three individuals involved in the illegal sale of narcotics in Hyderabad, including two brothers from Kukatpally who had studied in London.
The accused, Varun Prabhu and Chaitanya, developed connections with Nigerian nationals abroad and reportedly began trafficking drugs such as ganja and synthetic substances in Hyderabad. They frequently travelled to Bengaluru to procure drugs from Nigerian suppliers and sold them in the city, including to an associate named Kiran.
Acting on a tip-off, STF officers intercepted the brothers at Vivekananda Colony in Kukatpally as they were allegedly selling MDMA and OG Kush. SI Sindhya and her team arrived at the scene, but the suspects attempted to flee and reportedly attacked the officers before being subdued and taken into custody along with Kiran.
The police recovered 2.58 grams of MDMA, 38.56 grams of OG Kush, a motorcycle, and three mobile phones. A case has also been registered against three absconding associates Vance, Sai Krishna, and Nandu Sai.
According to SI Sindhya, further investigations are underway to trace the network and suppliers.
