Hyderabad: BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao on Saturday said the Formula E race held in Hyderabad firmly positioned Telangana on the global map as a hub for clean mobility, advanced technology, and innovation.
Speaking at the 10th FMAE National Student Motorsports Competition 2025 in Coimbatore, the former IT and Industries Minister said the event was more than a motorsport spectacle. “It proved Telangana is ready for the future,” he said, noting that the race generated ₹700 crore in economic activity and brought international attention to Hyderabad’s capabilities.
Formula E as launchpad for Telangana’s Mobility Valley
KTR said the Formula E event laid the groundwork for Telangana’s larger ambitions. “This is only the beginning. Hyderabad will emerge as the hub of India’s Mobility Valley,” he stated.
He described motorsport as a metaphor for ambition and innovation. “It’s not just about speed. It’s about pushing limits and discovering what’s possible,” he told the student audience.
Innovation, incubation, and inspiration in Telangana
Reflecting on Telangana’s journey over the past decade, KTR highlighted the state’s globally recognised startup infrastructure. He cited institutions like T-Hub and T-Works as examples of how quickly ideas in Telangana can move from concept to execution. “In the time it takes to sip your chai, an idea can walk from T-Hub to T-Works,” he said.
Urging students to become job creators instead of seekers, KTR challenged them to lead change. “Why stand in line when you can start one of your own?” he asked.
Message to Gen Z: Design your opportunities
KTR also offered a message to the younger generation, asking them to prioritise impact over income and authenticity over authority. “Hope is not a strategy. Create your own breaks,” he said, quoting from a recent Formula 1 film.
He concluded that success whether in motorsport, governance, or life requires courage, action, and intent. “We must build the future with belief and execution,” he said.
The FMAE competition drew students from across India who demonstrated strong engineering skills and innovation in a competitive motorsport setting.
