Hyderabad: Hyderabad police have announced extensive traffic restrictions and diversions for Ganesh immersion on Saturday, with the procession of Khairatabad Mahaganapati and thousands of idols scheduled to begin early morning and continue throughout the day.
Authorities said immersion will take place from 6 a.m. on September 7 until 10 a.m. the following day across major locations including Tank Bund, Saroornagar Lake, and several GHMC-managed water bodies.
Ganesh immersion traffic restrictions to affect major routes
Vehicular movement will be suspended on all key immersion routes. Police urged commuters to use alternative roads to avoid delays. Major idols from Balapur will pass through Charminar, Abids, Liberty, and Tank Bund before reaching Necklace Road. Similarly, idols from Secunderabad will travel via Patny, Paradise, Ranigunj, and Karbala Maidan to reach Tank Bund.
Immersion processions from Tolichowki and Mehdipatnam will go via Khairatabad, while those from Tappachabutra and Asifnagar will be permitted only up to MJ Market. All general traffic on these main routes will be barred during the immersion hours.
