Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday called Hyderabad Telangana’s strongest brand and the “premier gateway to the world.” He laid out an ambitious plan to elevate the city to global status. Hyderabad, he said, will lead Telangana’s push to become a $1 trillion economy by 2035 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047.
Speaking at Telangana Praja Palana Dinotsavam at Public Gardens, the Chief Minister said the government was preparing a comprehensive master plan. The goal is to develop both Hyderabad and the rest of the state with world-class infrastructure and livability standards.
Hyderabad global gateway: Revanth outlines infrastructure and water roadmap
To secure drinking water for the next 100 years, the State has launched Godavari Phase 2 and 3. These projects, worth ₹7,360 crore, are already in progress.
In addition, Revanth announced two major urban renewal efforts—Musi River Rejuvenation and the Gandhi Sarovar Project. These aim to enhance Hyderabad’s environmental and visual appeal. The newly planned Gateway of Hyderabad, along the Outer Ring Road, will serve as a landmark reflecting the city’s transformation.
Moreover, Hyderabad is rapidly emerging as a global business destination. Revanth noted that multinational firms are setting up Global Capability Centers (GCCs), boosting foreign investment and job creation.
Metro expansion and urban transformation
The Chief Minister also announced the second phase of the Hyderabad Metro Rail. With a budget of ₹24,000 crore, this expansion will add 76.4 km to the current 69 km network. It will ease congestion, improve transit, and support the city’s growing population.
“Our goal is to build a Hyderabad that is cleaner, smarter, and future-ready,” Revanth said. “From roads to air quality, every aspect of the city will meet international standards.”
