Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail passengers cannot carry more than ₹2 lakh in cash during travel, as per Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines. Officials reiterated the rule after a passenger faced restrictions at Jubilee Hills Checkpost Metro Station on Wednesday.
Security staff found ₹3.5 lakh in cash with the commuter during screening. They stopped him and explained that RBI rules allow only up to ₹2 lakh inside metro trains.

Authorities said the restriction aims to ensure passenger safety and prevent risks linked to carrying large amounts of money. Since the man exceeded the limit, staff barred him from boarding. He later left the station with the cash.
