Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao criticised the Centre for failing to clear the proposed expansion of the Hyderabad Metro Rail project.
He questioned the role of eight BJP MPs from the State, including two Ministers in the Central Cabinet, asking what efforts they had made to secure approvals for projects benefiting the state.
Rama Rao said the Centre had sanctioned the ₹2 lakh crore bullet train project for Gujarat but had withheld approvals for Hyderabad’s metro expansion, which he called critical for the city.
He demanded an explanation from BJP representatives in Delhi, asking whose interests they were representing if not Telangana’s.
KTR also pointed out that Telangana has two ministers and eight BJP MPs in the Union government and alleged they had shown no initiative on the metro file.
He said their inaction was directly affecting Hyderabad’s development and held them responsible for delays to the infrastructure project.
