HYDERABAD: The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has recorded a resounding victory in the Hyderabad MLC election for the local bodies constituency, reaffirming the party’s stronghold in the region. The announcement of the results was met with jubilant celebrations among AIMIM supporters.
AIMIM’s candidate, Riyazul Hasan Afandi, secured the seat with a significant majority, outpacing rivals in a contest limited to voters from local bodies, including councillors, corporators, and other elected representatives.
Party leaders described the win as a reflection of public trust, noting that AIMIM has consistently advocated for the rights of minorities and marginalised communities. They said this victory was the outcome of that ongoing struggle.
AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi congratulated the winning candidate, pledging that the party would continue to serve the people of Hyderabad and raise their concerns vigorously in both the Assembly and the Legislative Council.
