Hyderabad pilgrims tragedy: Owaisi seeks urgent relief after Saudi bus accident

Hyderabad: AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday voiced grief over the Hyderabad pilgrims tragedy after a Saudi bus accident reportedly killed several pilgrims from the city. He immediately reached out to the Ministry of External Affairs and pressed officials to extend urgent support to affected families.

Owaisi seeks swift relief in Hyderabad pilgrims tragedy

Owaisi contacted Deputy Chief of Mission Abu Mathen George and urged him to coordinate assistance. He also wrote to External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and asked him to intervene because the situation demanded quick official action. Moreover, he stressed that families required clear updates since they were trying to trace their relatives.

He pointed out that two Hyderabad-based travel agencies arranged the pilgrims’ trip to Saudi Arabia. After that, he contacted both agencies and asked them to share all passenger details. Officials at the State and Central levels received the complete list after the agencies passed it to his team. Furthermore, he requested immediate relief for every affected family.

Owaisi said his priority was to bring the bodies back to Hyderabad. Therefore, he began direct coordination with officials to speed up repatriation. He added that he spoke to both the Deputy Chief of Mission and the Consul General to push the process forward and ensure continuous communication.
