Hyderabad: Police warned that those dumping garbage on roads in Hyderabad will face strict legal action, including being summoned to the police station. West Zone DCP Vijay Kumar issued orders on Wednesday directing his officers to act firmly against individuals and establishments responsible for creating unhygienic conditions and posing a threat to public health.
DCP orders crackdown on road littering
During an inspection in Jubilee Hills, Madhuranagar, and Borabanda police station limits, the DCP instructed officers and staff to monitor habitual offenders who throw garbage on roads. He said that shopkeepers, business establishments, hotels, and other managements contributing to unclean surroundings should be dealt with strictly.
Officials were also told to track those throwing waste through CCTV footage and register cases against them. The DCP emphasized that encroachments on footpaths and roads by commercial establishments would not be tolerated. He directed police to coordinate with GHMC town planning officials to ensure main roads remain free from illegal structures.
