Hyderabad: It was a full-fledged drill with eyes on every corner. Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand led a dry run on Monday ahead of the Miss World contestants’ visit to Charminar and Laad Bazaar—two of the city’s busiest heritage and shopping spots.
The run-through ended at Chowmohallah Palace, where the visiting delegates are set to get a glimpse of Hyderabad’s royal past. The event is part of showcasing the state’s cultural legacy during the ongoing Miss World tour in India.
Security wasn’t left to chance. CV Anand said layered protection was thoroughly reviewed, with all personnel, event handlers, and background teams cleared through checks. “We wanted to test it all—on ground, in real time,” he said.
Law and order units, along with traffic teams, were put in place for a full-scale deployment trial. Officials moved through each site to iron out any last-minute issues. Key gaps were spotted and resolved during the walkthrough.
The exercise aimed at avoiding any chaos during the high-profile visit and managing the large crowds expected around Charminar and Laad Bazaar when the contestants arrive.
