Hyderabad: Police Commissioner C.V. Anand on Monday reviewed security plans for the upcoming Ganesh immersion processions in Hyderabad’s West Zone. The review meeting took place at Madhuranagar Police Station with senior law, traffic, and special unit officials present.
Commissioner issues directives
The Commissioner stressed that public safety must be the top priority. Officers were told to ensure devotees do not face inconvenience during the festival.
Local police, She Teams, and volunteers must stay alert against pickpocketing, eve-teasing, and chain snatching, he said. Pandal organizers were asked to keep volunteers at idol sites during the night as a precaution.
Looking back at past lapses, Anand called for stronger measures to maintain order. He outlined a clear action plan for quick and safe immersion of idols. In addition, he told officials to encourage organizers to start processions early and return home without delay.
Senior officers attend review
The meeting saw participation from West Zone DCP S.M. Vijay Kumar, DCP (SB) K. Apoorva Rao, DCP (Traffic) B.K. Rahul Hegde, and Additional DCP Task Force Iqbal Siddiqui. Other additional DCPs, ACPs, and station officials from across the West Zone also attended.
