HYDERABAD: In a significant administrative overhaul, Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand has ordered the transfer of 147 police inspectors across the city. As part of this large-scale reshuffle, new inspectors have also been appointed to 42 police stations, impacting both law and traffic enforcement divisions.
The transfers aim to streamline operations, bring fresh energy into key units, and address evolving policing needs in the city. A number of traffic police stations have seen personnel changes, with fresh appointments made to boost efficiency and service delivery.
In addition to the personnel reshuffle, several police stations have undergone name changes to better reflect their local identities. Notably, Hyderguda’s Hayathnagar Police Station has been renamed as Mohamadipatnam PS, and Shahinyathgunj Police Station has been renamed as Gosha Mahal PS, aligning station names with their geographic locations for clearer identification.
This restructuring is expected to enhance field-level policing and support ongoing law-and-order strategies in Hyderabad’s rapidly expanding urban zones.
