Hyderabad: The Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda commissionerates have been formally integrated with the Women Safety Wing to step up coordination on women’s security, Additional Director General Charu Sinha announced on Tuesday.
The decision was made at a joint meeting of the tri-commissionerates chaired by Director General of Police Jitender at the DGP headquarters. Senior officials discussed ways to improve operational support for initiatives under the Women Safety Wing, including Bharosa centres, Anti-Human Trafficking units, family counselling services, and SHE Teams.
DGP Jitender directed commissionerate officials to extend personnel and logistical support to these programmes to ensure effective ground-level implementation.
Charu Sinha said the integration aims to streamline efforts under Project Safety, an initiative run in collaboration with the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC). As part of the project, she said, the department has inspected over 1,000 women’s hostels.
Rachakonda Commissioner Sudheer Babu, Cyberabad Commissioner Avinash Mohanty, and Deputy Inspector General Reema Rajeshwari from the Women Safety Wing also attended the meeting.
